Clark To Get New Superpower
SPOILERS: Find out what will be part of 'Smallville's' second season.
Clark Kent (Tom Welling) will get a new superpower when the second season of "Smallville" kicks off next month on The WB.
"(It's) something you have seen before, though not as what you'd think was a superpower," creator Alfred Gough recently told Wizard Magazine. "Also, one of the friends will learn the secrets, and that's something I think will put a new spin on things. Oh, we'll also be introducing red kryptonite."
The other half of the creation team, Miles Millar, said that there also will be more this season on Kent's origins.
"I think next season opens many new areas for us which we can explore, and we're particularly interested in looking at Clark's origin and his continual journey of self-discovery," Millar said. "I think over the course of the season, he'll really begin to understand where he comes from and what part he plays in the universe, in the grant scheme of things."
Fans expecting Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) to turn evil any time soon will have a long time to wait.
"We know where Lex's destiny eventually ends, so I think that's something we're heading toward," Millar said. "His actual turn to full evilness will be a long way from now. There's definitely twists and turns. You're going to think he's turned, and he's not."
