Fox has not yet made a decision on "Terra Nova," and that might be good for that show. Especially since it's starting to look like "Alcatraz" from J.J. Abrams is not living up to the hype.

The series, focused on prisoners from the past escaping into the future, continues to slip on Fox Mondays, this time to a 3.8 rating/6 share, according to Fast National overnight ratings from The Nielsen Co. That is down 7 percent from the week before, and 36 percent from its premiere.

"Alcatraz" is now averaging a 4.8/7 in its timeslot, which puts it just slightly ahead of "Terra Nova." But then again, it's still cheaper to produce than the special effects-heavy dinosaur adventure from Steven Spielberg, which also is shot on location halfway around the globe.

"Alcatraz" is also losing audience from its lead-in, the now-cancelled "House," which itself has been bleeding some viewers. It's losing 12 percent of its "House" lead-in, and is actually doing slightly worse in the 9 p.m. timeslot than "House" did in the first part of the season.

Yet, "Alcatraz" still has a chance to survive, which is far better than the prognosis on ABC's "The River." That show, starring "Star Trek's" Bruce Greenwood, dropped 36 percent from its premiere the week before to finish with a 3.0/5. That is far behind what both "Dancing With the Stars" and "Celebrity Wife Swap" have done in that timeslot for ABC this year.

It also lost out to almost all of its competition, including "NCIS: Los Angeles" on CBS, "New Girl" on Fox, and "The Biggest Loser" on NBC. In fact, the only two shows it did beat was "Raising Hope" on Fox and "Ringer" on The CW. For "Raising Hope," "The River" was only 11 percent better.
