'X-Files' Gaining Ground

With the end near, television viewers are tuning into the cult classic

There isn't much time left for "The X-Files," and it seems that fans are tuning in to see how creator Chris Carter is going to end the series.

Sunday's episode finished with a 7.4 rating/11 share in the Nielsen Overnight Metered Market ratings, finishing in fourth place for the hour, but showing considerable improvement over previous episodes this season.

It was beat, however, by the movie "Double Jeopardy" on CBS (10.2/16), "L.A. Law: The Movie" on NBC (9.2/14), and "Alias" on ABC (8.1/12).

Fox finished the night in fourth place with a 6.5/10, ahead of The WB, which scored a 3.0/5. ABC took the top spot with a 9.2/14 followed by CBS (8.9/14), and NBC (8.0/13).
