Alternative Series For ENT?

Brannon Braga said that one of the early ideas was to do a series in multiple time periods

When Brannon Braga was trying to figure out what would be a strong followup to "Star Trek: Voyager" and pull back a lot of the fans at the same time, the "Enterprise" co-creator said there were several ideas bantied about, including a series that would've made the Temporal Cold War the main focus.

"I thought that it could be a great series on its own," Braga recently told Cinescape magazine. "The idea of a cold war being fought on different fronts, and each front is in a different century."

The idea, which was later incorporated into "Enterprise," would've allowed Braga and company to hit the reset button every week.

"It would be great to do a show that takes place in a different time period every week, and you have these sleeper agents in all different time periods," he said. "It's a very cool idea, but we decided to work it into 'Enterprise' instead, and I think it's working out well so far."

Braga did hint that the temporal cold war as seen on the UPN Star Trek series might not go through the entire run of the series. It all depends on how the story plays out.

"As the cold war keeps developing, you're going to get little glimpses of the Star Trek that is yet to come," he said. "It depends on how long we can sustain it. It will certainly go on for a while."
