'X-Files' Duo Together Again
Gillian Anderson talks about David Duchovny's return for the series finale
To the delight of Gillian Anderson, "The X-Files" series finale will see the return of David Duchovny as Fox Mulder.
Explaining how she would have reacted if Duchovny was not to appear in the finale, Anderson (Dana Scully) said that she would have though. "'Well, wait a minute, this isn't right. This isn't right.'"
"I'm very glad that the show is completely ending now, because I have a feeling that even though I would have mourned to a certain degree in saying goodbye, there would have been something left undone," said Anderson, who already is contracted to appear in the next "The X-Files" movie which is due out in 2004. "It wouldn't have been as clean, and I feel like we have an opportunity now to really tie it up in a whole, constructive and completing way."
The series finale "The Truth" will air May 19 on Fox.
