Stewart Chats 'Nemesis' Aliens

The actor says he's happy about what he's seen in the 10th film

More new aliens are going to be making their way to the Star Trek big screen, and they are known as the Remans. Yeah, not sure of exactly who they're supposed to be? Just imagine Ron Perlman in a lot of makeup (and not in a television series called "Beauty and the Beast").

Patrick Stewart, who will be bringing back the character of Capt. Jean-Luc Picard once again in "Star Trek: Nemesis," recently told TV Guide Online that the aliens in this movie are definitely something fans should look forward to.

"Romulus has a sister planet called -- of course, as you'd expect -- Remus," Stewart said. "So, you're going to meet the inhabitants of that planet, the Remans, who are quite unlike anything you've seen before.

"I think they might be the most successful aliens (makeup designer) Michael Westmore has ever produced. I even include the Borg in saying this. He's brought an alien race to life in an entirely convincing way. There's something very novel and unique in their design. They're imposing and sinister in a very different way from the Borg."

Just like 1998's "Star Trek: Insurrection," expect some scenes in the new movie to heat up a little, Stewart said.

"There is romance, and there is also sex, but Picard is not involved in either," he said.

Also, Stewart mentioned that he will not have producer credit in this film as he has in past films. Brent Spiner (Lt. Cmdr. Data) too that over when he worked with Rick Berman and John Logan on the story for "Nemesis."

"It's been a great thing for us to have a non-Star Trek writer," Stewart said of Logan, who also helped write the screenplay for the Oscar-winning 2000 movie "Gladiator." "Logan is a fine writer, but also a big fan of the TV series. He remembers the names of the episodes and so forth."
