Dorn To Direct 'Enterprise'
Yet another Star Trek alum getting behind the camera for the new series
Now that principle photography of "Star Trek: Nemesis" has ended, Michael Dorn is once again making a return to Star Trek. This time, it's behind the cameras for the latest Trek series, "Enterprise."
Dorn, best known as Lt. Cmdr. Worf in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," recently told Sci-Fi Wire that he will be directing the second to last episode of "Enterprise" of its first season.
"We actually got it in our movie deal," Dorn said about his contract to appear in the 10th Star Trek film due out in December. "They asked, 'What would you like?' and I said, 'I've been really trying to (direct)' They said, 'OK, great,' and that's how it happened."
This isn't the first time Dorn has directed as he's been behind the camera for DS9, the syndicated series "V.I.P." and a new sitcom pilot he co-stars with Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi, TNG) called "Through the Fire."
"I'm psyched about it, it's a great episode," Dorn said of the Trek installment which is scheduled to air a week before the first season finale. "It's going to be a lot of fun. I've always wanted to do an 'Enterprise.' It's a terrific show.
"I don't even know what (the episode) is going to be called. They've got a working title now, but I just got the beat sheet for it. It's a pleasure-planet episode, and that's all I'm going to tell you."
