"Eureka" and "Warehouse 13" may be Syfy's ratings powerhouses for the summer schedule, but next month, both shows will get a chance to experience some holiday cheer with their own Christmas special episodes.
And, according to Syfy, both episodes are a festive treat for fans.
"As a brand and a channel, we think we have a unique twist on what traditional holiday programming can be," said Blake Callaway, senior vice president for brand and strategic marketing, in a release. "It will be fun for our audience to get to see new episodes of some of their favorite shows in December versus waiting for July for them to come back. That's our Christmas treat to them."
Both episodes are part of Syfy's "Countdown to Christmas." which kicks off on Dec. 6, and Kay Jewelers has signed on as the official sponsor for the week. Kay also will present scenes starring "Eureka's" Colin Ferguson and "Warehouse 13's" Allison Scagliotti in which each will share their holiday memories.
The Warehouse 13 Christmas episode will not resolve the Season 2 cliffhanger with Myka (Joanne Kelly) leaving the warehouse. Instead, that will be addressed in Season 3.
The festive adventure will see "Taxi" star Judd Hirsch make an appearance as Arties dad. There is always a possibility he could return in Season 3 as Artie (Saul Rubinek) continues to blossom his romance with Dr. Vanessa Calder, played by "Bionic Woman" icon Lindsay Wagner.
Additional holiday episodes of "Ghost Hunters," "Hollywood Treasure" and "Paranormal Files" also will air during the countdown week, with marathons of "The Twilight Zone" and "Star Trek: The Next Generation" scheduled throughout December.
"Warehouse 13" and "Eureka" each show their holiday specials Dec. 7 on Syfy.
