Goldsmith To Score 'Nemesis'
Veteran composer's addition not a surprise to Star Trek and Stuart Baird fans
Jerry Goldsmith may be in his 70s, but he's still composing music. And once again, that music will be a part of a Star Trek film.
Film Score Monthly is reporting that Goldsmith has officially signed on to score "Star Trek: Nemesis," his fifth movie in the Star Trek franchise. Goldsmith scored 1998's "Star Trek: Insurrection" and 1996's "Star Trek: First Contact."
Goldsmith is responsible for more than 260 film and television scores throughout his expansice career including "The Twilight Zone," "Alien," "Poltergeist" and "Total Recall." And he's no stranger to "Nemesis" director Stuard Baird's work, either, providing the music for "Executive Decision" and "U.S. Marshals," films that both were directed by Baird.
Goldsmith also has written the score for 1979's "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and 1989's "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier." He also wrote the theme for "Star Trek: Voyager" (for which he won an Emmy) and the main title for "Star Trek: The Next Generation," which was lifted from the first Star Trek film.
