Claudia Donovan Could Go Rogue On 'Warehouse 13'
Allison Scagliotti among the Syfy talent talking about what's next on this week's Alpha Waves Radio podcast
Fans have experienced at least several dimensions of Claudia Donovan on Syfy's hit show "Warehouse 13."
But what can they expect for Season 3?
"I was Claudia to go all Starbuck next year," said Allison Scagliotti, the actress behind the character, sharing her love for Katee Sackhoff's bad-ass pilot from "Battlestar Galactica. Scagliotti, talking with reporters during October's Syfy Digital Press Tour in Orlando, Fla., is joking, of course. But the actors do get some input on what happens each season on "Warehouse 13."
"At the beginning, at least for Season 2, we had a meeting at the opening of the writers room where we talked about the different arcs they wanted for the upcoming season, and if we had any specific wants for our character," Scagliotti said. "That's the time to bring it up."
Bringing a piece of themselves into their characters has been one of the endearing aspects of "Warehouse 13," which has wowed audiences to the top of Syfy's ratings for two seasons running. On Dec. 7, it will join sister show "Eureka" in airing holiday versions a la "Doctor Who," including Claudia's efforts to reunite Artie (Saul Rubinek) with his father, played by special guest Judd Hirsch.
Like a lot of Season 2, there are expected to be some touching moments between Claudia and Artie. But if the actors had their way, the two characters would be paying close attention to some physical appearance, like Claudia's rocking hair.
"Saul tells me that he wants to have a scene someday where he takes my hair and yanks it out of my head and say, 'What's the meaning of this?'" Scagliotti joked. "And I, in turn, will yank on his life-sized eyebrows, and say, what's the meaning of these?"
Despite the fun on -- and off -- the set, the actors and crew take "Warehouse 13" very seriously. Scagliotti, who said she likely wouldn't be in Los Angeles when the writers room reopened for Season 3 last month, but she will have a presence one way or another.
"I've been in New York for a while, and I will either be patched through on a conference call, or drawing up a spreadsheet," Scagliotti said. "I take it very seriously."
Scagliotti joins a host of people appearing Wednesday on a special holiday edition of Alpha Waves Radio, which will share some of the informal interviews with the talent behind shows like "Warehouse 13," "Caprica," "Fact or Faked," "Being Human" and more.
Don't miss a minute of the show, which starts at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Nov. 24 at www.AlphaWavesRadio.com. The chatroom will open at 7:30 p.m. ET, so don't miss it.
"Warehouse 13" and "Eureka" air their Christmas episodes Dec. 7 beginning at 8 p.m. ET, only on Syfy.
