Showrunners for The CW's "Smallville" keep adding familiar faces for the show's 10th and final season.
Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello says the amphibious superhero Aquaman will return in time for November sweeps. He was last seen in Season 8 having been unmasked by LutherCorp.
It's not clear how many episodes Alan Ritchson, who played Aquaman in past epsisodes, has committed to, but it is speculated that he will appear in Episode 9.
Ritchson is the latest to bring a character for "Smallville's" final season. Previous alums scheduled to appear include John Glover as Lionel Luthor (although there won't be any appearance by Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor), John Schneider as Pa Kent, Laura Vandervoort as Kara/Supergirl, James Marsters as Brainiac, and Michael Shanks as Hawkman.
They all will join series regulars Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Justin Hartley, Cassidy Freeman and Allison Mack.
How big the audience will be for "Smallville" in its final season is a question that some fans have, especially after The CW's top-rated program last year, "Vampire Diaries," struggled in its season premiere (story), a trend that could carry into other programs on The CW's schedule this season.
However, it's also possible that since The CW has jumped ahead of the major networks in premiering its fall season this past week, much of the audience may have been unaware "Vampire Diaries" had already started for the season.
"Smallville" earned a 1.5 rating/3 share in overnights last season after its move to Fridays, making it the fourth-highest viewed program on The CW behind "Vampire Diaries" (2.3/4), "America's Next Top Model" (2.2/4) and "Supernatural" (1.7/3).
"Smallville" premieres Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
