The First Minute Of The New 'Doctor Who'
BBC release the teaser for the opening episode, plus scenes from 'Vampires of Venice'
And that is exactly where the new series will pick up from. The BBC has released the first 40 seconds from "The Eleventh Hour," featuring a familiar blue planet and an out-of-control blue box plummeting towards the Millennium Dome.
Other clips have also been released, including scenes from "Vampires Of Venice," the sixth episode of the new season in which the Doctor (Matt Smith) and his new companion Amy (Karen Gillan) come up against a nest of vampires.
Fans can also expect to see the return of some favorites, including the Weeping Angels (originally created by new showrunner, Steve Moffat, in season three's "Blink"), the enigmatic River Song and, of course, the return of the Daleks and Cybermen.
Watch the video below for a snippet of what to expect from the opening episode, "The Eleventh Hour."
But if you would rather have a look at how the Doctor reacts face to face with some of history's most famous featured creatures, watch the clip below from "Vampires Of Venice."
"Doctor Who" premieres April 3 at 6:20 p.m. on BBC One in the UK, then on April 17 at 9 p.m. ET on BBC America.
