Here It Is: The New 'Doctor Who' Trailer
Matt Smith takes over as pilot of the Tardis when the series returns to BBC America
BBC America has released the latest trailer for the series, which stars Matt Smith as The Doctor and Karen Gillan as Amy Pond. The two take over for David Tennant, who had been in the title role since the second season.
Will this Doctor have a sonic screwdriver? It's hard to tell. The Tardis crash at the end of the New Year's special not only hurts The Doctor's mode of transportation, but his sonic screwdriver is destroyed. Now The Doctor has just 20 minutes to save the world (hey, that's better than what Justin Timberlake and Madonna had), and thank God Amy Pond is there to help.
Bad guys this season include the Daleks, the Weeping Angels, alien vampires, humanoid reptiles (isn't that the Gorn?), and a "silent menace that follows The Doctor and Amy wherever they go."
Can't wait for April 17 to see the new "Doctor Who"? BBC America is presenting special premiere screenings of the series at WonderCon in San Francisco April 3 and C2E2 in Chicago on April 17.
Also, BBC America will air "Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide," an all-access look inside the universe of "Doctor Who," on April 17 at 8 p.m. ET just ahead of the Season 5 premiere.
