Masi Oka: Big Showdown Coming To 'Heroes'

Actor still in the dark on if this is the final season

This article contains minor spoilers for the NBC series "Heroes."

Forget the sidelined fight at the end of last year, or even the Peter/Sylar scuffle at Kirby Plaza in Year One.

There is a much bigger battle on the way in "Heroes," this time thanks to the diabolical mastermind that is circus ringleader, Samuel.

At least, that is what fans should expect, according to the shows very own everyday superhero. Speaking with Fancast, Masi Oka (who plays time travelling Hiro Nakamura) revealed some tidbits on what viewers should expect to see in the remaining episodes of "Heroes" this season.

Played by former prison escapist Robert Knepper, the new villain of the series certainly has some cryptic plan progressing, and, according to Oka, all will be revealed "within the first two episodes. And towards the end of the season, youre going to see some unlikely alliances - and some unlikely enemies as well."

And, just like in typical "Heroes" fashion, that plan will lead to the merging of several key character stories that have been developing throughout the fourth season.

"A big showdown is coming up," he revealed. "And it involves the crossing of paths for many characters."

Over the next few weeks, fans will see a lot of Hiro as he jumps from time period to time period in order to accomplish all that he needs to do ... and the process involves the reunion of a few old favorite characters.

"Its kind of a continuation, but more in a resolution fashion," Oka said of his storyline. "He now he has three specific goals to accomplish: Deal with his brain tumor, rescue Suresh, and find Charlie (played by GleesJayma Mays). That is a more concrete mission than he had in the first half of the season."

One thing that's on everyone's lips though is whether or not this will be the final season for the comic book-themed series. Well, Oka is just as much in the dark as its fans.

"We dont know. Everythings up in the air," he said. "Its no secret that our ratings have slipped from Season 1, but creatively I think this is the second-strongest season. We want the crew to be working as well, but so many things go into these decisions."

Read more of what Oka has to say at Fancast.

"Heroes" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC, and will air at a special time Monday beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
