After receiving a nomination from the American Film Institute, UPN's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" has yet another reason to be proud.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has nominated the series as outstanding drama series as part of the organization's 13th annual GLAAD Media Awards to be given out April 1, April 13 and June 1.

GLAAD's awards honor individuals and projects that offer fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community as well as issues that affect their lives. The show currently features a relationship between Tara (Amber Benson) and Willow (Alyson Hannigan).

The "Buffy" comic book series "Dark Horse" also received a nomination in its respective division.
