Richard Hatch On BSG Remakes, Continuations

A true legend takes a moment to shares some of his thoughts during last July's San Diego Comic-Con

Whether you love him or hate him (and really, who hates Richard Hatch?), be for only a continuation or for only a reimagination. There likely would've never been "Battlestar Galactica" in the 21st century if it wasn't for the man who simply played a fighter pilot named Apollo for a single season on one show, and a second season on a spinoff.

Hatch spent years trying to keep "Battlestar Galactica" on the mind of Hollywood, and that prompted Universal to at first plan a continuation for Fox, but then after the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, to take a different more controversial direction in a reimagination for what was once called the SciFi Channel.

While Hatch quickly allowed himself to support Ronald D. Moore's vision despite his initial hesitation, it doesn't mean that there isn't room for a continuation, including one that's slowly in the works for director Bryan Singer -- the man who was working on the original Fox project.

Hatch also has much more to share in this great interview from San Diego Comic-Con last July, so be sure to check it out.
