First Glimpse At 'K-9' Spinoff
Re-designed for a younger audience, 'Doctor Who' sidekick finally gets his own show
Set in the not-too-distant future, "K-9" features a new team of alien catchers teaming up with the infamous tin-dog from "Doctor Who" as the human race implements new and radical policies on alien immigration on Earth.
Although the description may sound a little heavy, the series has been aimed at children and will be carried by Jetix rather than the BBC and will likely draw a younger audience than "Doctor Who" or its spinoff series based on Sarah Jane.
Australia's Park Entertainment produced the series and it was produced in a specialist set constructed in Brisbane.
Some 26 episodes have been produced, however it is highly unlikely that any characters from the existing Whovian universe will make it over.
Also, take a listen to the music used in the trailer -- it's the same background music used for the first trailer of this year's "Star Trek" movie.
