NBC wanted to give fantasy magic fans a chance to try out its BBC import "Merlin" June 21 with a fascinating sneak peek of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," which opens July 15.
Some have said the latest movie will be one of the best yet. Directed by David Yates with a screenplay by Steve Kloves based on the famous novel by J.K. Rowling, "Half-Blood Prince" features a return of all of our favorite characters, including Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley. Also returning, of course, is Michael Gambon as Albus Dumbledore in a film where we suffer a ton of loss leading into the final chapter (or at least in the movie franchise, the final two chapters).
The Harry Potter movie series is one of the most successful movie series of all time, if not the most successful, and still has two more films after this one to continue to cement its place in history.
But why wait? Take a look at some of the scenes shown during last week's "Merlin." And don't forget that you can continue to watch "Merlin" every Sunday beginning at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
