Star Trek's 'Nemesis' cast?
Rumors suggest a British actor other than Jude Law will be taking on Shinzon
He's no Jude Law, but young British actor Tom Hardy may be making his way to some stardom as rumors reported by TrekWeb have him winning the role of Shinzon in Paramount's 10th Star Trek movie, "Nemesis."
Hardy most recently appeared as Lance Twombly in Ridley Scott's "Black Hawk Down: A Story of Modern Warfare," which will receive a limited opening release in New York and Los Angeles Dec. 28 before opening nationwide Jan. 18.
He's probably best known for playing Janovec in the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers." He also made appearances in the 2001 film "Morality Play" starring Willem Dafoe as well as taking on the role of Pascal Dupont in "Simon."
Shinzon has been rumored to be a clone of Capt. Picard (Patrick Stewart) in the upcoming Star Trek movie, written by John Logan and directed by Stuart Baird, which began principal photograhy last week. The character reportedly leads a race called the Remans, and was raised a slave on Romulus' sister planet, Remus.
TrekWeb does caution that the casting has not yet been finalized.
Paramount Pictures has not confirmed any of the guest star casting for the upcoming movie, so this report should be treated as any other rumor would.
