Ryan Officially On 'Doctor Who,' But Is She Staying?
At least some of the chatter surrounding Michelle Ryan and her involvement with "Doctor Who" were true.
BBC announced that Ryan, who American fans would recognize as the star of the short-lived NBC series "Bionic Woman," will guest star in one of the upcoming "Doctor Who" specials with David Tennant. It's still unclear whether that will translate into a long-term role as The Doctor's new companion.
For the special, Ryan will play Lady Christina de Souza in the special called "Planet of the Dead," which is expected to air around the Easter holiday. Ryan is on set now as filming has just begun in Wales along with actor Lee Evans.
Ryan has had an interesting run in British television as well including Zoe Slater on "EastEnders" as well as the popular series "Merlin," both which air on BBC.
But is Ryan the new full-time assistant, joining Matt Smith in the Tardis in 2010?
"As always, the script is being kept strictly under wraps," outgoing showrunner Russell T. Davies told BBC.
"However, we can reveal that Lady Christina is a woman with a mysterious past who's going to have a huge impact on The Doctor."
