This story contains MODERATE SPOILERS for the upcoming fifth season of ABC?s "Lost."

What is the mysterious island? Why are The Others really there? And what is the enigmatic Dharma Initiative really about?

If you?ve found yourself asking these questions since the opening episodes of ABC?s ?Lost,? then you?ll certainly be pleased to know that answers are on the way ... although you might have to wait another season to get them.

?More on the four-toed statue to come,? series creator Carlton Cuse recently hinted to SciFi Wire. ?In fact, the four-toed statue might come to life in the Zombie season. As we roll into the end of Season 5, and certainly in Season 6, the show will definitely be much more in answer mode.?

One thing that might be left hanging though is the fates of many characters on the series ... even those that are currently presumed dead. At the end of the fourth season, Claire vanished into the cabin with her father and Michael and Jin just happened to be on a boat moments before it exploded. Are they gone for good?

?I would beg to differ on Claire's alleged 'dirt nap,' unless you mean taking a nap on dirt," Cuse said. "Didn't we see her last sitting in a cabin with the mysterious Christian Shephard? As for Jin, we'll definitely be seeing more of him in season five, but as we're moving through past, present and future, who knows when we'll see him??

Cuse also explained that the re-appearance of Jack?s father through flashbacks and visions will eventually lead up to the revelation of what exactly happened to his body after Oceanic Flights 815 crashed on the island and his coffin was discovered vacant.

?I think it's safe to say you'll be seeing Christian again in Season 5,? he said. ?And what's up with those white tennis shoes he was wearing back in Season 1??

?Lost? returns to ABC on Jan. 21, 2009.
