BBC Apologizes For Barrowman Radio Stunt
Not too long ago, if someone exposed themselves during a radio show, only the people sitting in the studio would be able to see.
Not anymore, and BBC is already apologizing for one radio stunt that involves "Torchwood" star John Barrowman over the weekend.
Barrowman exposed himself during a radio show on BBC's "The Switch" through a Webcam the show had in studio, according to The Evening Standard.
"You're famous, we're told, for getting your willy out in interviews," said host Nick Grimshaw. "Is this going to happen today? Should [co-host Annie Mac] be careful?"
Without hesitation, Barrowman asked if the Webcam was on. When he told it was, he said, "I'll get it out for you then, no problem."
The show aired just after 8 p.m., which is considered time when families might still be watching. The BBC, however, said the Webcam was covered, and that nothing was actually broadcast to online viewers.
Annie Mac beat the BBC to an apology by offering one by the time the show ended. While BBC took a similar step, the broadcaster said it had not received any complaints about the show.
Barrowman, a noted stage actor and singer, gained prominence during a first-season guest starring role in "Doctor Who" with Christopher Eccleston, that later led to his own "Doctor Who" spinoff series, "Torchwood."
A shortened third season of the show is expected to air on BBC One next year.
