Don't Believe Those Batman Rumors

Whether it's about directors, guest actors, villains, storylines -- if it involves the third Batman movie, don't believe it.

David Goyer, who was involved with the story on both "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight," told MTV News that absolutely nothing has been written in stone about the proposed sequel, including whether or not Christopher Nolan will be back to helm it.

"Chris and I haven't even talked about it," Goyer said. "He quite understandably is taking a long, long vacation and wants to purge himself."

On top of that, Nolan only likes to concentrate on one film at a time, he said. And while both Goyer and Nolan have tossed around ideas, no one has actually sat down and put them on paper.

"I wish I could tell you more," Goyer said. "There really isn't anything to tell."

Fans, of course, are excited to see what the two will pull out of their hats next. Nolan had already taken on a very difficult job a few years ago in trying to successfully reinvent Batman, a move that actually was quite fruitful for Warner Bros., even if it wasn't a smash hit at the box office. While the first movie had a $205.3 million take, the sequel that included the late Heath Ledger $524.5 million domestically so far, making it the second highest-grossing movie of all time, behind only "Titanic."

"If and when [Chris is] ready to talk, we'll talk," Goyer said.
