2 versions of 'Buffy' musical
You might want to watch Nov. 6 to see all that Joss Whedon wants you to see
Singing, dancing and vampires. No, it's not a hoe-down at Kathie Lee Gifford's house. It's the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" musical episode that is set to debut Nov. 6.
The episode, "Once More With Feeling," will feature musical acts performed by the entire cast, including Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy) and James Marsters (Spike). But if you don't want to end up seeing the watered down version in reruns, the Test Pattern Web site is reporting that you might want to make sure you're sitting in front of the set tuned into UPN next Tuesday night.
According to the site, the Nov. 6 airing will have a running time of nearly 57 minutes. However, repeat and cable viewings of the episode will run at a much shorter time: 48 minutes.
This actually is common practice with special television episodes as they are run with limited commercial interruption in their initial airing, but cut down to normal times for rebroadcast and the insertion of standard commercial slots.
