This story contains MAJOR SPOILERS for the second season premiere of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" on Fox.

It was hard not to catch the beautiful redhead known as Shirley Manson in the season premiere of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" as her addition to the Season 2 cast was felt in a number of ways.

Not only was the ruthless new company executive able to get her hands on a key piece of equipment believed to help create SkyNet, but Manson -- the lead singer for the rock band Garbage -- also provided some original music for the opening scenes of the episode.

The song, according to Fox, was a new arrangement of a gospel spiritual song known as "Samson and Delilah" originally composed by the Rev. Gary Davis. Manson performed the song, working with "Sarah Connor" and "Battlestar Galactica" composer Bear McCreary, with instrumental and vocal tracks recorded last month.

The idea to incorporate the song into the episode came from series executive producer Josh Friedman, Fox said. However, Friedman gave both Manson and McCreary complete creative freedom to adapt the material, which they turned around and made each of the words in the lyrics relevant to story points within the episode.

Of course, that wasn't the only thing revealed about Manson's new character. It was also revealed that her character, Catherine Weaver, is a T-1001 liquid medal Terminator, similar to the villain featured in "Terminator 2: Judgment Day."

Fox is offering fans a chance to download a poster featuring a very liquified Shirley Manson by clicking here. Also, fans who may have missed the episode can watch it on the Fox Web site by clicking here.

During Comic-Con International in San Diego last July, Airlock Alpha had a chance to ask Manson about her new life balancing both a singing and an acting career, and how each would complement the other.

"I don't know, I would like to do more acting. I certainly loved the experience of it, and it's exciting and new for me," Manson told Airlock Alpha's Michael Hinman. "I will always make music, that has been my whole life since I was 15. I will always carry that through, whether I do that in a public forum or not remains to be seen. I don't want to close any doors in my life."

"Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
