This story contains MINOR SPOILERS for the final episodes of SciFi Channel?s ?Battlestar Galactica? and its upcoming tele-movie.

If you thought the ending of "Revelations" was tough, just wait until you see the last 10 episodes. These are the words of Edward James Olmos - otherwise known as "Battlestar Galactica?s" Admiral Adama ? who, according to DoorQ, promises that the remaining episodes of the season will include some harsh adventures.

"We?ve found Earth," he said, referring to the ending of the mid-season finale which aired in June. ?But Earth is nuked. There?s nothing there. What happens in the next 10 episodes takes science-fiction in a new direction we?ve never seen before.?

The final half of the season has already been teased as being one of the most ?brutal? and gut-wrenching collection of episodes genre fans will have seen, and unlike the 1970?s original series, there will not be a happy ending. Fear not though, as Olmos confirmed that ?the human race will survive.?

Although the plot of the new episodes remains a closely guarded secret, it has been revealed that some new characters may be coming, and according to Olmos, one of the new characters being introduced into the series will be a Colonial Marine, played by Colin Corrigan. The character has already appeared in the series, however has been kept tucked away in the background. In the final episodes though, Corrigan?s character will play a pivotal role.

Olmos is currently working on the next ?Battlestar Galactica? tele-movie, which was written by Jane Espenson. The as-of-yet untitled movie will focus on the aftermath of the attack against the Colonies which took place in the mini-series, and will revolve tightly around the characters of Anders (Michael Trucco), Cavil (Dean Stockwell) and Tyrol (Aaron Douglas). Apparently, two Cylon agents struggle with their respective plots on the human ships that escaped the initial attack and also on the ground against those human?s who fought back. The tele-movie will also star Olmos? wife, Lymari Nadal, who had a small part in the mini-series when she was rescued by Boomer.

?Battlestar Galactica? returns on Jan. 1, 2009.
