X-Men To Get 'First Class' Movie Treatment?
There might be three Marvel mutant movies in the works, according to Production Weekly.
Based on the comic book with the same name, "X-Men: First Class" has been mentioned in a list of films in development by 20th Century Fox, as reported by the IGN Filmforce website.
The comic focuses on the early years of the first five X-Men -- Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Iceman, Beast and Angel.
Of course, the other two "X-Movies" in the pipeline are "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," scheduled to slice into theaters in 2009, and a Magneto spin-off that is expected to attract moviegoers in 2010.
Although Marvel Studios has their own line-up of films in production, including a sequel to "Iron Man," a "Thor" movie and another based on Captain America, several Marvel properties are still licensed to other production companies, including 20th Century Fox, which has brought the first three X-Men movies and the Spider-Man franchise to the big screen.
If it becomes reality, "X-Men: First Class" would likely appear in theaters in 2011.
