Obviously, it takes a village to showcase Lennie James' talents.
The star best known to genre fans for playing the enigmatic Robert Hawkins in CBS' "Jericho" will be starring in an American Movie Channel (AMC) remake of the classic 1960s show, "The Prisoner," according to Zap2it.com.
This time, it won't be a town in the midwestern United States that will be the center of attention. Instead, James will play Number 147, who lives in a mysterious village where Number 6, a former spy played by Jim Caviezel, has been imprisoned.
Also starring on the six-hour mini-series will be Golden Globe nominee Ruth Wilson, Jamie Campbell-Bower and Hayley Atwell. Bill Gallagher is writing the scripts for the program.
"The Prisoner" is being created by AMC in conjunction with British broadcaster ITV and Granada International. ITV owns the rights to the program.
Look for "The Prisoner" to air on AMC in 2009.
