It's been canceled twice, but that's not going to stop some of the strongest fans of the CBS series "Jericho" from trying to bring it back from the grave again.

Jericho Rangers have raised more than $6,000 to purchase television advertising in the Los Angeles area as a way to generate some new buzz on the show that had an abbreviated run last year as producers continue to try and find a network or cable company interested in keeping the story of a Kansas town following a nuclear attack alive.

The ad was produced by a fan known as "RubberPoultry" and began airing Thursday in a 10-day run on Time Warner cable in the Los Angeles area that is expected to be included in such shows as "Ghost Hunters" on SciFi Channel, "Deadliest Catch" on Discovery Channel, and other programs on the History Channel. It's narrated by Brad Beyer, the actor who played Stanley Richmond in the series. Fans who don't live in the Los Angeles area can see the video at www.SaveJerichoAgain.com.

Fans said they chose Time Warner because it has 97 percent market penetration in the Los Angeles area, and advertising officials there worked with the Rangers to "create a schedule that complements other fans' media efforts and maintains awareness of support for the show, its cast and crew."

The same fans have already funded an ad in the trade publication Variety and recently purchased space on a billboard in downtown Los Angeles.

The ads will air in Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the San Fernando Valley.

"Jericho" also was nominated for a 2008 SyFy Genre Award for Best Series/Television, the second time in as many years it received a nomination in the heavily competitive category. It finished behind "Battlestar Galactica" in voting last year, but fans will have a chance to vote for it again beginning June 25.
