In just a few weeks, voting will begin for the 2008 SyFy Genre Awards, which this year will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Airlock Alpha!
The SyFy Genre Awards Nominating Committee, an international committee made up of both Airlock Alpha staff members as well as readers just like you, has spent months going over hundreds upon hundreds of nominees in television and movies to come up with our final list of nominees, a list that will first be announced on SyFy Radio Wednesday, June 11 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
During that broadcast, Michael Hinman will welcome Jarrod Cooper, a writer with Doctor Who News.com, and will spend some time outside of that interview to reveal this year's nominees.
Overnight Wednesday night, a special nomination video will hit YouTube featuring all of this year's final nominees, and then on Friday, as part of Michael Hinman's SciFriday column, he will provide a written list of this year's nominees.
So what actors, television shows and movies have a chance? Airlock Alpha has released what is known as its "long list," that is a list of every single actor, television show and movie that received at least one vote from the Nominating Committee. This list is not the final list, but you can be guaranteed that the Final Five nominees can be found in each of the category lists. So hunt them as President Roslin is trying to do on "Battlestar Galactica." You can view the "long list" as well as comment on nominees by clicking here. You'll see some surprises and some familiar faces ... but you may be surprised by those who didn't get nominated this year than those who did.
Find out who the Final Five nominees are this week in every category by listening to SyFy Radio, checking out YouTube, and reading SciFriday this week!
