Here's your chance to finally see Tim Russ from "Star Trek: Voyager" in a dive suit.

The actor, best known as Tuvok in the UPN series, will join Eugene W. Roddenberry and other divers June 22 at Anacapa Island in California as part of the Roddenberry Dive Club. They will join Harvey Schmiedeke, founder and past president of the Sunken Treasures Society of Los Angeles who will give a presentation on the Ships to Reefs program and offer insight to the underwater ecology of the group's dive spot.

The event is limited to certified divers who will be in the California dive area that weekend, but tickets will include breakfast, snacks, a light lunch, tanks and weights available for rent 24 hours in advance and air fills.

The trip will begin with boarding on the Peace Dive Boat at 6:30 a.m., which departs at 7. Overnight accommodations will be available on the boat as well beginning at 8 p.m. the night before.

The boat includes color television and VCR, a camera table, sun deck, air and Nitrox compressors, 3500 psi fills, 12-foot inflatable chase bot, clothes dryer, live game tank and a hot tub.

Those wanting more information should contact the Roddenberry Dive Club at (866) 979-9979, or e-mail the group at diveclub@roddenberry.com.

"I have been an avid scuba diver for almost 15 years," Roddenberry said in a recent e-mail to fellow prospective divers. "I have found the world beneath the sea to be one of the most exotic and magical places on Earth. For me, diving is a unique experience that quenches my thirst for adventure and discovery. To take a page out of Star Trek, I love exploring the strange new worlds and seeking out new life in our oceans."

The day before, Roddenberry will join divers at the Long Beach Scuba Show. That event begins at noon on June 21 meeting with vendors, getting an insight into scuba diving, and testing equipment.

Then, around 5 p.m., Roddenberry will take the group to dinner.

For more information on that, all the contact numbers are the same, including (866) 979-9979 by phone, or diveclub@roddenberry.com to reach Roddenberry about the dive event online.
