The following contains MINOR SPOILERS for the upcoming "Iron Man" and "The Incredible Hulk" motion pictures.

The first Iron Man movie hasn't been released yet -- it's due in theaters on Friday, May 2 -- but there is already talk about bringing the Marvel Comics superhero back for at least two more motion pictures, according to IGN Filmforce.

I've got another two movies in my head and I'm ready to go and I know the cast feels the same way," said director Jon Favreau during a publicity appearance recently. "Now it's out of the hands of us, of the filmmakers, and it's even out the hands of your readers."

Favreau believes the people who can make the difference -- the fans -- will like what they see and will want more.

"I know all the people who have been following this for two years are going to go and see the movie, and maybe they'll see it twice, and I'm very grateful for that," he said. "If everybody comes out to see the movie and it's successful, then I'm sure Marvel's going to want to do another."

Of course, comics fans who have read Tony Stark's adventures over the last few decades have begun speculating about who might appear in any future movies.

Iron Man's nemesis, the Mandarin, recently appeared in a direct-to-DVD animated Iron Man film, but fans hardly recognized him. The challenge could be, how can the franchise update this character for today's audiences?

Other bad guys who have vexed Iron Man over the years include The Crimson Dynamo (the Soviet opposite number for Iron Man), Radioactive Man, Whiplash, Count Nefaria (a vampire), and the Titanium Man.

Tony Stark's allies also could blossom as the trilogy progresses. In the comics, Jim Rhodes (Rhodey) gets his own armor and becomes War Machine, for example. And Pepper Potts marries Happy Hogan, another long-time friend of the billionaire playboy. Or even Madame Masque, who had her own agenda that sometimes caused her to ally herself with the good guys or the bad guys, could show up.

Sharp-eyed fans might also notice Iron Man appearing in "The Incredible Hulk," featuring the green-skinned Marvel Comics' character. That film will be released on Friday, June 13.
