?The X-Files? ran on television for nine consecutive years which covered all maners of creepy crawlies, bizarre encounters and even alien invasions. But the upcoming sequel - now confirmed as ?I Want To Believe? - will offer something completely fresh and new.
?I have to say it was challenging after 202 hours to find something that wasn?t done,? veteran writer Frank Spotnitz told ShockTillYouDrop during an on set visit. ?That isn?t to say there are not elements - there will always be [familiar] elements - but the fundamental idea is different from anything we had done in the show. What we also wanted was an X-file, however fractured, that could serve as a mirror to Mulder and Scully - we were looking for a case that could expose things about them.?
In the first film, Mulder and Scully went international with scenes set in Washington, Texas and London. However this new movie will reduce the jet-setting a little in order to focus on the more intimate life of the central characters for a one-off adventure.
