It's unlikely she meant anyone who visits this site, but "Battlestar Galactica" star Lucy Lawless says that she would rather lie than reveal anything about the upcoming fourth season, especially since real fans don't need to know until it happens.
Lawless appeared last week on David Letterman, and said the writers of the late-night talk show went back to the hotel with the actors because they wanted to be able to spend some time with the cast.
"People love this show," said Lawless, who plays the Cylon Deanna Biers in the series, according to the Huffington Post. "It's amazing who are fans of the show. All those writers on Letterman? Amazing. You could tell they were genuine fans. It's the intelligence of the show that draws people in."
Lawless said Letterman's writers were interested in who the Final Five were, but she felt that they really didn't want to know. "True 'Battlestar' fans don't want spoilers, and I would never tell anyway," Lawless said.
Although she is most famous for playing "Xena: Warrior Princess" in the 1990s, Lawless said fans probably equally recognize her "Battlestar" role nowadays. And a lot of that is because of how much the SciFi Channel works to move its audience.
"You know, everyone's drawing political parallels, because the show deals with universal themes about humanity, including its more negative aspects like xenophobia and ethnic cleansing," Lawless said. "If that's intended by [executive producer] Ron Moore, I'm not smart enough to see it. I'm not really seeing it as a political statement because I'm an outsider, but certainly, the current war [in Iraq] is nourishing Ron's storytelling."
So who is the final Cylon?
"I think we know. I can't remember, though," Lawless said. "I'm guessing, however, that [executive producer David Eick] and Ron have had this in mind from the beginning."
"Battlestar Galactica" premieres its fourth and final season April 4 at 10 p.m. ET on SciFi Channel.
