Except perhaps for religion, most would agree that politics and the environment are the top global topics everyone likes to debate about.

Well, Joe Morton (aka Henry Deacon) hopes that "Eureka?s" upcoming third season will have his character involved in more political and environmental issues.

He told reporters that he would like Henry to "get involved in something political. Last year, I sort of ended up being carted off to prison. So I think there's a change again for him this year in terms of coming out of prison and where he is and getting over Kim and sort of starting a new life."

Morton would love to see Henry involved in politics, economy and "if he could find a way to use science to help people to make a better living, have a better life, etc. and got involved in the world globally."

But he isn?t the only Eureka "citizen" talking. Colin Ferguson (Sheriff Jack Carter) told Sci Fi Wire to expect some major surprises.

Next season will involve some changes. Colin explained, "There are some characters that are leaving. There are some others that are coming in. So it's going to be really sort of tumultuous, and, at the same time, we'll continue with a lot of the arcs that we did for my character, anyway. We'll continue with my daughter [Jordan Hinson as Zoe Carter] and grow in that direction."

We know what Morton would like to see his character doing next season, but what would Colin like to see Carter doing?

"I want to know about his history," Ferguson said. "I want know what was he like as a marshal in L.A.? What was that like?"

Morton does want Henry to get more involved globally and now it looks like he will be, but probably not quite in the way he was thinking.

"Eureka" is about to expand its audience to another country. Starting April 1, the Japanese MSO Jupiter Telecommunications will begin carrying SciFi Channel on its J:COM Digital Broadcasting service. ?Eureka? will make its Japanese debut exclusively on the channel.

The new season of Sci Fi Channel?s "Eureka" is set to premiere either late this year or in 2009.
