The following contains MODERATE SPOILERS for the fourth season of "Battlestar Galactica."

Tired of waiting for new "Battlestar Galactica?" The wait is almost over. New episodes are about to start, with appearances and rumors running rampant.

First up is an appearance on tonight?s "The Late Show with David Letterman." Practically the entire cast will be there reading the Top 10 list. Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer, Grace Park, Michael Hogan, Aaron Douglas and Lucy Lawless are all expected to be there.

Then on March 28 the SciFi Channel is airing two back-to-back half-hour specials at 10 p.m. ET/PT to prep us for the season premiere on the following week.

Everyone is speculating on how the series will end. We already know that they do reach Earth, but the individual fates of our favorite characters are still up in the air. Katee Sackhoff doesn't want a happy ending for her character, Starbuck.

"I think there will be closure for Starbuck," Sackhoff told the Washington Post. "But I can't see her happy, in love and with babies. She's the happiest when she's alone, feeling pain and stress. She's tremendously flawed, but out of everyone she's the most human."

Lucy Lawless is back this season and talking to iF magazine. For better or worse, Lawless finished all of her filming before the writer?s strike.

"Because it was such an uncertain time, I think Ron [Moore] was very mindful of trying to tie up as many loose ends just in case the strike went on in perpetuity. So he wanted to make sure that if it was a forced end, that it would be a satisfying resolution to things., which was hard for him. And it?s not the ideal way to go out when your show is your baby," Lawless said.

The first eleven episodes were made before the writer?s strike, so the obvious question is whether strike will cause the fourth season to be split in two. Lawless doesn?t know, but she thinks .. "that would be a horrible idea if they did split it."

Moore recently told the Chicago Tribune that he doesn?t know when the final 10 episodes of the 20-episode fourth season will air. Shooting continues until June and it will take until at least fall to finish post-production on those final episodes.

Moore was happy to say that he is directing episode 12 of season four. Surprisingly, the strike was actually helpful in preparing him for his first ever directing gig.

"I?m spending a lot of time with the director of photography walking through the sets and talking about things. If we were in the normal production mode, he wouldn?t have the luxury of spending so much time with me," Moore said.

Moore verified the rumor that Joss Whedon ("Buffy The Vampire Slayer," "Serenity") would be directing an episode, but unfortunately (depending on how you look at it) Whedon will have to now sit out due to his obligation to the new Fox series, "Dollhouse."

Moore also confirmed that lawyer Romo Lampkin (Mark Sheppard) will be returning for one episode in the first 10 episodes of the new season and that filmmaker John Dahl is directing episode 13.

You may have heard before that Moore was working with Jane Espenson ( "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") on a SciFi Channel series called, "Warehouse 13." Moore confirmed that they have both left that project.

So, what can we expect from Moore now that "Battlestar Galactica" is coming to an end? Well, Airlock Alpha already reported that the SciFi Channel greenlit the two-hour "Caprica" pilot, which acts as a prequel to "Battlestar Galactica." Plus, Moore and writer Michael Taylor have a sci-fi pilot in development at NBC.

Yes, this is a frakking good time to be a "Battlestar Galactica" fan.

CBS' ?The Late Show with David Letterman? airs Wednesday at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT. The fourth and final season of ?Battlestar Galactica? premieres on April 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
