'Lost' Audience Nudges Up
Wayne Brady might be getting better ratings for "Don't Forget The Lyrics" thanks to its killer "American Idol" lead-in, but it's not grabbing the younger, more desired audiences.
"Lost" earned a 7.8 rating/12 share according to Fast National ratings from Nielsen Media Research, up slightly over the season low last week, and finishing second to "Lyrics" on Fox, which earned an 8.5/13. However, it was "Lost" that won the key demographic of adults 18 to 49 for the hour, barely slipping ahead of Brady, according to Zap2it.
"Lost" doubled the audience that tuned in for the previous week's encore episode which served as it's lead-in, and was able to finish ahead of a rerun of "CSI" as well as "The Celebrity Apprentice" on NBC, which earned a 7.5/12 and a 5.1/8 respectively.
"Lost" remained the top series on ABC for the night as "Eli Stone" fell to a 4.7/8, well behind the a repeat of "Without a Trace" on CBS, but ahead of "Lipstick Jungle" on NBC.
ABC finished third in the 18-49 demographic with a 3.2 overall, just behind the 3.3 from CBS and well in back of Fox's 7.2. Fox also won the night overall with an 11.6/18 followed by a 7.3/12 from CBS. ABC finished third with a 5.3/9 while NBC had a 4.0/6.
Fast Nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets that includes both live viewing and same-day timeshifted viewing. A rating point generally represents more than 1.1 million households while the share indicates the percentage of televisions turned on that was tuned to the specific program. These numbers typically shift when final ratings are issued.
