Official 'Star Trek XI' Forums Open

With all this activity, one would almost think that the next "Star Trek" movie was coming out next week.

But it's not, it's premiering Dec. 25. In the meantime, however, fans now have a new place where they can talk about the upcoming film by J.J. Abrams on the newly launched forums on the official site. Check out the forums by clicking here.

The new message boards are pretty straightforward with boards specifically for the movie, general Star Trek discussions, off-topic discussions, and comments and suggestions. At the same time, the official Star Trek site is keeping its forums open despite the fact that there is no clear sign that anyone is taking over the news operation there.

The new "Star Trek" movie stars Leonard Nimoy, Zachary Quinto, Eric Bana, Winona Ryder and others in what is being described as a partial reboot of the franchise to give it new life to a new generation of fans. It will be the first film since 2002's "Star Trek: Nemesis."

"Star Trek XI" premieres Dec. 25. Check out the movie's official site by clicking here.
