It seems like every time Greg Grunberg talks about his friend J.J. Abrams' latest project, he gets in a little bit of trouble.

But Grunberg -- best known as the mind-reading cop Matt Parkman in NBC's "Heroes" -- seems to be not able to go anywhere without someone asking him if he'll be in "Star Trek XI."

"Why would you be asking me," Grunberg joked with the crowd attending FX Show in Orlando Saturday. "Every time I answer this question, I get into so much trouble. I answer it as vaguely as I can, but I still get that call from Paramount."

Abrams, who is directing the upcoming movie, has a tendency like many directors and producers to use a lot of people he's familiar and comfortable with in his projects. People like Grunberg himself.

"You will see some of the actors that J.J. likes to work with in the movie," Grunberg said. "I'm not talking about me in particular, but you will see some great cameos. You'll never know who the people are, but they are all fans of the [Star Trek] shows, fans of the movies, and called up J.J. asking to be in the movie. "They were monster celebrities from all over, and he's put them all in disguises and put them into his movie."

"Star Trek XI" premieres Dec. 25 in theaters worldwide. Check out the movie's official site by clicking here.
