'Lost,' 'Pushing Daisies' Get DGA Nods
When it comes to directing, it seems that few do it like "Lost" and "Pushing Daisies."
Both ABC shows picked up nominations from the Directors Guild of America for best directing in drama and comedy series, "Lost" stealing away two nods by itself.
Jack Bender, who directed the most recent season finale "Through the Looking Glass," was nominated alongside Eric Laneuville in the drama category. Laneuville directed the "Lost" episode "The Brig." Also nominated were David Chase and Tim Van Patten from "The Sopranos" and Alan Taylor from "Mad Men."
For "Pushing Daisies," it was Barry Sonnenfeld getting the honor for his work on the show's pilot, "Pie-lette." Among the other nominees in the comedy category are Michael Engler from "30 Rock," David Grossman from "Desperate Housewives," Beth McCarthy-Miller from "30 Rock" and David Nutter from "Entourage."
Awards will be handed out Jan. 26.
