Get ready because "Battlestar Galactica" has an official return date.
SciFi Channel has announced it will begin airing 10 episodes of the show's fourth and final season beginning April 4, staying in line with original reports late last year that the show would be making its way back to the network in April.
There had been some confusion in recent weeks when promotions for the show on SciFi Channel (and even the November telemovie "Razor") announced the show would be returning in March instead. But it seems that SciFi has instead decided to release the show in what will probably be a heralded return to Friday nights.
"Battlestar Galactica" had moved to Sundays last season as a way to boost its ratings, pairing it up with shows like "The Dresden Files." However, that experiment didn't work very well, which probably is what precipitated its move back to Fridays, where it was once a part of the SciFi Friday television block.
The premiere comes just a week after the Season 3 DVD is set to hit stores.
Details about the premiere of Season 4 will come as soon as more information is available, so bookmark this story to get the official update.
