'Pushing Daisies' Rebounds From Series Ratings Low
Looks like all it was was a pre-Thanksgiving fluke.
"Pushing Daisies" did a clear rebound from its series low 4.7 household rating last week to earn a 6.2 rating/9 share, according to Fast National ratings from Nielsen Media Research. That was enough to give it second place in the Wednesday 9 p.m. hour behind "Criminal Minds," which earned a 10.0/15, according to Zap2it.
"Bionic Woman" proved that it wants to head toward its end finishing with an estimated 3.9/7, enough for fourth place behind "Kitchen Nightmares" on Fox. The Michelle Ryan-led series, however, did finish ahead of "Gossip Girl," which had a 2.1/3 for The CW.
ABC finished the night in second place with a 7.1/11, which NBC could only manage a 4.7/7 overall, beating out Fox and The CW for third place.
The night was filled with holiday programming, as the 8 p.m. hour featured "Shrek the Halls" and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," two half-hour specials on ABC that pulled in a 11.0/17 and a 9.4/14.
Fast Nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets that includes both live viewing and same-day timeshifted viewing. A rating point generally represents more than 1.1 million households while the share indicates the percentage of televisions turned on that was tuned to the specific program. These numbers typically shift when final ratings are issued.
