The life of "New Amsterdam" may be about to end, but for our favorite Terminators, it's just beginning.

"The Sarah Connor Chronicles" debuts on Fox Jan. 14 in what may be a bit of a surprise since Fox has backed off a Sunday scheduling for the show, and instead will pair it with "24" on Monday nights.

If the schedule were to hold, that would but "Sarah Connor" up against "Dancing With the Stars" on ABC, "How I Met Your Mother" and "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS, and "Chuck" on NBC. Last year, "24" struggled against "Heroes," but despite some of the Fox show's very public backsteps this off-season, it may fare a little better against the superhero series that has faltered a bit in the ratings this year.

The series stars Lena Headey in the title role along with Thomas Dekker as John Connor as well as "Firefly's" Summer Glau and "Judging Amy's" Richard T. Jones. The show picks up where "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" leaves off, but will completely ignore "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machine."

A fourth Terminator film, likely sans Arnold Schwarzenegger -- now governor of California -- is already in production, likely ignoring the Fox television series.
