Not too long ago rumors were rife that Noel Clarke, otherwise known as Mickey Smith, would be making a return to "Doctor Who" in its fourth season. Despite being trapped in a parallel reality with no hope of escape, Clarke insisted that anything can happen in science-fiction but he was unable to discuss any of his current projects.
So if the possibility exists that Mickey will make a comeback, could Billie Piper’s Rose Tyler (who also is in an alternate world) also be set for a return? The answer quite bluntly is no, and Piper herself is bamboozled as to where those rumors have come from.
"A friend of mine told me he'd read about that," Piper told Contact Music. "It's news to me. I think I'd find it very hard to play Rose Tyler again."
Piper left the revitalized series at the end of its second season, despite critical acclaim for her role on the show. Since then, however, her career has had something of a jump start with several other acting projects now under her belt. But even though she is still keeping busy, Piper hasn’t given up on a return to traveling in time and space altogether.
“I don't rule out a return to the show in some form or another at some point in the future,” she said.
"Doctor Who" is currently airing its third season in the United States every Friday night on SciFi Channel. It will return for its annual Christmas episode on Dec. 25 before airing its fourth season in early 2008 and fifth season in 2010.
