Believe it or not, the 2007 SyFy Genre Awards are starting on time, as the polls are now open for fans to vote for their favorite actors, television shows, movies and Web sites over the next 30 days.

"Battlestar Galactica" led the overall nominations, as they have in the past three years, so it should be interesting to see if they can win their first-ever award. Also "Heroes" and "Lost" -- which both made a killing at the Emmys -- are up for a good number of awards as well.

The nominees were chosen by a committee set up of fans and Airlock Alpha staff members from all over the world, having to chose from a list of hundreds of potential nominees. To be eligible, the show or movie had to have aired between June 1, 2006 and May 31, 2007 in the United States.

Voting is taking place right here, but everyone is reminded that they can only voter once per day per IP address.

Millions of ballots have been collected over the years, and tens of thousands are expected this year, so be sure to vote early, and vote often (up to once every 24 hours).

VOTE NOW! The polls are open for the 2007 SyFy Genre Awards! Cast your ballot now!
