'Lost' Stays Steady In Ratings
PLUS: 'Jericho' stays behind 'Idol' special
"Lost" is continuing to stay ahead of "CSI: NY" in total viewers for Wednesday nights, even if it's still lagging in total households.
The ABC series pulled in a 7.2 rating/12 share Wednesday night, nearly identical to what it received the week before, according to Fast National ratings from Nielsen Media Research. The rating put it behind CSI's 7.7/13, but "Lost" was able to garner nearly 450,000 additional viewers, Zap2it reported.
Both shows beat "Medium" on NBC, which earned a 4.8/8.
"Jericho" on CBS also stayed steady, posting a 5.0/9, slightly down from the 5.2/8 it earled last week. Some of that drop was because of its competition, however, as Fox was broadcasting an "American Idol" telethon that raised more than $30 million, instead of its usual "Bones." That telethon earned a 13.9/23 for Fox.
Both of those shows easily beat what ABC and NBC had to offer, although NBC decided to go with a rerun of "Thank God You're Here."
As it has since "American Idol" came back, Fox took Wednesday night with a 15.4/24, with CBS far behind in second picking up a 6.4/10. ABC finished ahead of NBC with a 4.4/7 while The CW had a 2.3/4.
Fast Nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets that includes both live viewing and same-day timeshifted viewing. A rating point generally represents more than 1.1 million households while the share indicates the percentage of televisions turned on that was tuned to the specific program. These numbers typically shift when final ratings are issued.
