Bryan Loves YouGaining Buzz
Independent horror flick stars George Wendt
Im a sucker for masks. First it was Michael. Then it was Jason.
Now, it looks like the entire cast of Bryan Loves You could be responsible for keeping me awake at night.
The quirky independent film by director Seth Landau hasnt been released yet, but its starting to gain some advanced buzz as the release date nears. The horror flick stars Tony Todd, George Wendy, Tiffany Sepis, Brinke Stevens and Lloyd Kauffamn in a tale about a little Arizona town that gets taken over by religious fanatics.
JoBlo.com has an extensive piece up about the forthcoming release that makes it sound like a cross between The Blair Witch Project, One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest and maybe the Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones that aired on television back in the 1980s. Not a bad combination when you think about it.
Stills of the movie shown on JoBlo and mailed to Rabid Doll are sufficiently creepy, and make this one worth a good hard look. If the acting is as disturbing as the masks, Landau could be on to something.
Besides, Im fast becoming a fan of Wendts ability to play a character thats so far from Cheers Norm its hard to believe its the same guy.
Bryan Loves You goes into limited release on Halloween. The official movie site is up at www.grassrootstheory.org.
