No Script Yet, But 'X-Files' Could Return
David Duchovny says it's practically a done deal
Could David Duchovny be right this time?
The star of the one-time Fox hit series "The X-Files" has told IESB.net that work really is beginning on an 'X-Files' movie that would follow up not only on the 1998 film, but the entire series as well focusing on the main core characters including Duchovny's Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson's Dana Scully.
Duchovny told IESB that negotiations are expected to end with an agreement by the end of week with shooting for a film possibly beginning in 2008, despite the fact that there appears to be no script on the table.
While Duchovny described the project more as a supernatural thriller in 2005 when talking with USA Today, he reiterated that it would not be a horror film like what fans see in "Saw" and "Hostel." And it might not stop at just one.
"We'll do another movie or two," Duchovny said. "We'll continue to do movies if the next one does well."
Of course, talk about an "X-Files" movie has been circulating for years, so only time will tell if the recent hype actually turns into something tangible.
