Boreanaz To Provide Voice For Green Lantern

New Justice League animated film in the works

David Boreanaz will provide the voice of Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in "Justice League: The New Frontier," according to Comics Continuum. The Warner Bros. direct-to-DVD animated film will be written by "Justice League" writer Stan Berkowitz, with Darwyn Cooke, who created the original comic book series, as story and visual consultant.

Boreanaz, best known for his role as Angel, the vampire with a soul in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and the series "Angel," is currently playing Agent Seeley Booth on the Fox series Bones. He has also appeared in "The Crow: Wicked Prayer."

Its also been learned that Brooke Shields will be providing the voice of Carol Ferris in the film. Carol Ferris is Hal Jordan's girlfriend as well as super-villan Star Sapphire. Shields recently provided the voice of the Riddler's girlfriend in "The Batman" for Kids WB.

"Justice League: The New Frontier" is expected to have a PG-13 rating and is the first in a line of three releases by Warner Bros. Animation scheduled for release in late 2007 and early 2008. The other two movies are "Superman: Doomsday" and "Teen Titans: The Judas Contract."

Warner Bros. Animation has not confirmed voice talent for any of the DC direct-to-DVD projects. Until then, this information should be considered to be rumor.
