Series will begin next year on the British broadcaster

They can bend time. They can heal themselves. They can fly. And in their greatest ability of all, they'll be appearing on BBC Two in 2007.

Brits waiting to see the hit NBC series "Heroes" now have a schedule after BBC Two acquired the rights to air the first season of the show, which will begin at some point next year. However, BBC officials didn't say exactly when the series would start.

"'Heroes' is a fresh and imaginative take on the superhero theme and features amazing special effects," said Sue Deeks, BBC Television's Head of Series, Programme Acquisition. "BBC Two is the perfect home for such an intriguing, intelligent, irresistible drama."

The series, according to the BBC, bring in an average of 14.3 million viewers each week, consistently finishing as one of the top programs in the key demographic of adults 18 to 49, where it earns a 6.9 rating/15 share.

The show was created by Tim Kring, with the first season consisting of 23 episodes. It features an ensemble cast including Sendhil Ramamurthy, Milo Ventimiglia, Adrian Pasdar, Hayden Panettiere, Ali Larter, Santiago Cabrera, Tawny Cypress, Greg Grunberg and Masi Oka. The show is executive produced by Dennis Hammer and Allan Arkush, who came to the show with Kring from "Crossing Jordan."
